Civic North Consulting Last updated: September 9, 2026
Civic North Consulting (“Civic North,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect through civicnorthconsulting.com (the “Site”), how we use it, who else sees it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
This policy covers the Site. Information we handle for a client under a signed services agreement is governed by that agreement.
The short version: we collect what you send us through our forms and basic technical information about your visit. We use a small set of standard business tools to run the site, send our newsletter, and keep track of who has contacted us. We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising. Optional cookies stay off until you allow them, and you can change your mind at any time through the Cookie Preferences link in our footer.
Information We Collect
Information you give us directly. When you submit our contact form, subscribe to our newsletter, or email us, we collect what you provide. This is typically your name, email address, organization, and the content of your message.
Please do not send sensitive personal information, health information, or confidential government information through a web form or unencrypted email.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we collect limited technical information: IP address and the general region it indicates, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, time of visit, and basic performance and error data. Some of this is necessary for the Site to load and stay secure. The rest is collected only if you allow analytics cookies.
How We Use Your Information
- Respond to inquiries and provide the services you request
- Scope, deliver, invoice, and administer client engagements
- Send newsletters and updates you have signed up for
- Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it
- Keep the Site available, functional, and protected from abuse
- Meet our legal, tax, accounting, and contractual obligations
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it to make automated decisions about you.
Who We Share Your Information With
We use third-party service providers to run ordinary parts of our business. They process information on our behalf, under contract, and only for the purposes below.
| What the provider does | What it may receive |
|---|---|
| Website hosting, content delivery, and security | IP address, browser and device information, and pages requested, for every visit |
| Website analytics | Pages viewed, referring page, device and browser information, and an anonymous visitor identifier, only if you allow analytics cookies |
| Email and business productivity | The contents of email you send us and documents related to our work |
| Email marketing | Your email address and your engagement with our emails, if you subscribe |
| Customer relationship management | Your name, email address, organization, and the substance of your inquiry, once you contact us |
Our specific providers change from time to time as our tools evolve. The categories above do not. For a current list of the providers we use in each category, email us at the address below. The specific cookies and technologies running on the Site at any given time are listed in our Cookie Preferences center, which is kept current automatically.
We may also disclose information to our professional advisors, such as our accountants, attorneys, and insurers; where required by law or legal process; where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Civic North, our clients, or others; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Our providers are located in the United States and process information there.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We group everything the Site uses into three categories:
- Strictly necessary. Required for the Site to load, stay secure, and remember your privacy choices. These are always on and cannot be disabled. They do not track you across other websites.
- Analytics. Help us see which pages visitors find useful. Off until you allow them.
- Marketing. Advertising and remarketing tools. We do not currently use any. This category exists and defaults to off so that none can be added later without your permission.
On your first visit, optional categories are off by default. You can accept all, reject all, or choose category by category. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time through the Cookie Preferences link in the footer of every page, and the change takes effect immediately without clearing your browser data. The preference center also lists the specific cookies in use.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as an opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
How Long We Keep Information
| Information | Retention |
|---|---|
| Inquiries and email correspondence | Up to 3 years after our last contact, unless it becomes part of a client record |
| Client records, contracts, and invoices | 7 years after the engagement ends, for tax, accounting, and professional obligations |
| Newsletter subscribers | Until you unsubscribe. We then keep your email address on a suppression list so we do not contact you again by mistake. |
| Website analytics data | Up to 14 months |
| Cookie consent records | Up to 12 months, after which we ask again |
When a retention period ends, we delete the information or de-identify it.
Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter using the link in any email we send
- Change your cookie choices at any time through Cookie Preferences in the footer
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, or a copy of it in a portable format
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. We do not do any of these.
To exercise a right, email us at the address below with enough detail for us to locate your records. We will respond within 45 days and will tell you if we need a reasonable extension. We may need to verify your identity first, normally by corresponding with the email address already on file. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written authorization. If we decline a request, you may ask us to review that decision and we will respond in writing.
Visitors Outside the United States
The Site is intended for audiences in the United States, and we do not market our services internationally. If you visit from outside the US, your information will be processed in the United States. Visitors in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom may request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of their personal information using the contact details below, may withdraw consent at any time, and may complain to their local data protection authority.
Security
We use HTTPS across the Site, rely on providers that maintain recognized security programs, and limit access to personal information to those who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
Third-Party Links and Children’s Privacy
The Site links to other websites, including LinkedIn and pages belonging to our clients and partners. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
The Site is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly process the information of anyone under 16 for targeted advertising or sale.
